Autumn Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple (undrained)
    2/3 c. sugar
    2 pkg. (3 oz.) lemon jello
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1 c. diced, unpeeled apple (Granny Smith)
    1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. Cool Whip topping
Preparation
    In a saucepan, combine pineapple and sugar; bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Add jello; stir until dissolved.
    Add cream cheese; stir until mixture is thoroughly combined.
    Cool. Fold in apples, nuts, celery and Cool Whip topping.
    Pour in 9-inch square pan.
    Chill until firm.
