Spiced Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. shelled nuts (large pieces, halves)
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. water
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    dash of salt
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Heat oven to 275\u00b0.
    Toast the nuts by placing on a cookie sheet in oven for 10 minutes.
    Combine sugar, water, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Bring to a boil and boil 2 minutes or until a candy thermometer reads 320\u00b0.
    Remove from heat and add vanilla and nuts. Stir until the mixture is cloudy.
    Pour into a buttered platter using 2 forks to separate nut clusters.
    Makes 1 pound.
