P.D.Q. Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices (optional)
    3/4 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. ground turmeric
    4 c. sliced cucumber and onions
Preparation
    Tie spices in cheesecloth bag.
    In saucepan, combine spice bag, vinegar, sugar, salt and turmeric; bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Pour over vegetables; cool to room temperature.
    Store in covered container in refrigerator (remove spice bag after 1 day).
