Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. self-rising cornmeal
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 medium onion, chopped
    1/2 green pepper, chopped
    1/4 c. oil
    1/2 c. milk
    1 egg
    oil (for frying)
Preparation
    Stir cornmeal in the boiling water.
    Cook until thick, 3 to 5 minutes.
    Add remaining ingredients to cornmeal mixture and mix well.
    Drop by teaspoonful into hot oil.
    Cook until brown.
