Date Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. chopped dates
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. Wesson oil

Preparation

Pour boiling water over dates and baking soda.
Let set.
Mix remaining ingredients together in large bowl.
Add date mixture. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes in a 9 x 12-inch pan.
