Nutmeg-Meltaways - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter, softened (no substitutes)
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
3/4 c. (about 3 oz.) ground almonds or finely chopped pecans
1 c. confectioners sugar
1 Tbsp. ground nutmeg
Preparation

In a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and vanilla.
Gradually add flour; mix well.
Stir in the nuts.
Shape into 1-inch balls; place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 18 to 20 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.
Cool on wire racks.
Combine confectioners sugar and nutmeg.
Gently roll cooled cookies in sugar mixture.
Yield: about 5 dozen.
