Italian Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 c. vegetable oil
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 onion, sliced
Preparation
    Shred cabbage.
    Layer in large bowl, alternating cabbage with slices of onion.
    Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar over top of cabbage.
    Mix remaining ingredients together and bring to a boil.
    Pour over cabbage.
    Do not stir.
    Cover and let sit at room temperature 6 to 8 hours or overnight, then stir and refrigerate.
