Waldorf Astoria Cake - cooking recipe

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. vinegar
2 (1 oz.) bottles red food coloring
2 1/4 c. cake flour, sifted
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Beat in eggs.
Add vanilla, vinegar and food coloring.
Combine flour, cocoa, soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture alternating with buttermilk. Pour batter in 2 greased and floured 9-inch pans.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
