Baked Apples With Currants(Elegant With Roast Pork) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 large firm apples
    1/2 lb. brown sugar
    1/4 lb. sweet butter, melted
    1/2 c. pecan pieces
    1/2 c. currants
    12 cinnamon sticks
Preparation
    Slice a piece from the bottom of each apple, so it will sit firmly in the baking dish.
    Core each apple, being careful not to pierce through the bottom.
    Make a well in center of each apple (where you've removed core) large enough to hold a generous amount of the filling.
    Mix filling ingredients together, except cinnamon. Place apples in a buttered baking dish.
    Stuff each apple with filling.
    Place a cinnamon stick in center of each.
    Bake apples in a 300\u00b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes, until they are soft, yet still retain their shape.
    Yields 12 servings.
