Chow Mein Over Noodles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. sirloin steak
    1/2 c. water
    6 c. boiling water
    1 c. vegetable oil
    1 large onion
    1/2 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
    1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    1/4 lb. Chinese egg noodles
    2 tsp. grated fresh ginger
    2 stalks celery
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. frozen pea pods, thawed
Preparation
    Slice steak across grain into 2 times 1/4-inch strips. Dissolve cornstarch in water and soy sauce.
    Place noodles in boiling water; cover and let stand 2 minutes or until softened, but not done.
    The noodles cook quickly so watch them carefully. Drain noodles and rinse thoroughly with cold water.
    Heat oil in 10-inch nonstick skillet with sloping sides.
    Carefully place noodles evenly into skillet and fry about 3 or 4 minutes.
    Turn noodles and fry until crisp.
    Drain noodles and pat dry.
    Place in warm oven while preparing beef.
