Cold German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. baking potatoes, peeled
    2 large onions, diced
    6 large celery stalks, diced
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. cider vinegar
    1 c. liquid salad or vegetable oil
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Boil potatoes until just done.
    Drain water.
    Slice potatoes while warm, handling carefully.
    Mix all other ingredients well (until sugar is dissolved); pour over warm potatoes.
    Stir carefully.
    Store in refrigerator overnight.
