Batter-Dipped Hot Dogs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. self-rising corn meal
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. melted or liquid shortening
    8 wieners
Preparation
    Sift together corn meal and pepper.
    Add
    egg, milk and shortening.
    Beat\twith
    rotary
    beater
    until
    smooth.
    Dip wieners into batter; drain.
    Fry in hot deep fat (375\u00b0) 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown.
    Drain on
    paper towels.
    Makes 8.
