Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. pickling salt (rock or ice cream)
    3 qt. water
    1 qt. vinegar
    2 fresh heads dill
    2 toes garlic
    1/4 tsp. alum
    1 large dried red chili
Preparation
    Wash and clean cucumbers. Soak in ice water overnight. Pack in quart jars. Mix the first 3 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Next, add to cucumbers in jar the next 4 ingredients. Cover with vinegar mixture. Seal and put in a water bath for 5 minutes.
