Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. water
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. white Karo syrup
    2 c. raw peanuts (1 lb.)
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Bring water to a boil.
    Add sugar and Karo syrup.
    Stir until dissolved.
    Cook to 240\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Add raw peanuts. Cook to 310\u00b0, stirring constantly.
    Remove from stove and add butter and vanilla, then soda.
    Stir quickly.
    Mixture will foam. Spread on well buttered or foil-lined cookie sheet (10 x 14-inches); cool.
    Remove foil.
    Break into pieces.
