Pan Fried Corn Pones - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. self-rising corn meal
2 1/2 c. boiling water
1 egg
3/4 c. cooked bacon bits or chopped cracklings
Preparation

Pour boiling water over meal; mix to combine.
Stir in egg and bacon or cracklings.
Shape in pones by pressing between hands and fry on both sides until golden brown, about 10 to 15 minutes. Serve hot.
