Great Grandma'S Gingerbread(100 Years Old) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 c. hot water
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1 c. molasses
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add beaten egg, molasses and all dry ingredients.
    Add hot water last, beat until smooth.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
