Ingredients

1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 Tbsp. liquid smoke
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 lb. lean meat, thinly sliced 3/16 to 1/4-inch thick
Preparation

In a small bowl, combine all ingredients except meat.
Stir well.
Place meat 3 or 4 layers deep in a glass, stoneware, plastic or stainless steel container, spooning liquid mixture over each layer.
Cover tightly.
Marinate 6 to 12 hours in the refrigerator, stirring occasionally and keeping the mixture tightly covered.
Lay on greased racks.
Place in 160\u00b0 oven for 4 to 5 hours.
Turn oven down to 130\u00b0 and continue to bake until dry.
Makes 1/4 pound jerky.
