Christmas Favorite Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sugar
    1 pt. white syrup
    1 lb. nuts of your choice
    1 lb. margarine (don't use the whipped one)
    3 small cans milk
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except nuts in large kettle.
    Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly with rubber spatula or wooden spoon, until soft ball but firm ball stage.
    Will take 45 minutes to 1 hour.
    Remove from heat, beating until very thick and creamy. Be sure the gloss is gone and candy turns creamy.
    Stir in nuts; turn into large 10 x 14 x 2-inch pan.
    Cut into squares.
    Keeps up to 6 weeks; will improve with age.
    Makes 6 pounds.
