Crullers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour, sifted
    4 eggs, well beaten
    2 Tbsp. butter, melted
    1/2 c. sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 small glass rum or 1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. sweet cream
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients together until well blended. Roll into a thin dough. Cut into squares or triangles.
    Make
    a slit in the center and
    pull one end through this slit.
    Deep fry these in hot shortening until delicately browned.
    Remove from fryer and drain well on absorbent paper.
    Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cooled.
