Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/4 c. brown sugar
    1 c. broken nuts
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    1 pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. Melt shortening and stir in brown sugar. Allow to cool slightly. Beat in eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each. Add flour mixture, nuts and chocolate chips. Blend well. Pour into greased pan, 9 x 12. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes. When almost cool, cut into squares.
