Fried Okra(Afro-American Favorite) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. fresh okra
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    2 c. cornbread
    salt
    pepper
    bacon fat
Preparation
    Cut off the top stems; hand wash the okra, discarding any that are dry and woody.
    If the okras are large, cut on a diagonal into 1-inch lengths.
    If they are small, leave them whole.
    Dip in the beaten egg and roll or shake in cornmeal seasoned with salt and pepper.
    Fry in hot oil or bacon fat until golden brown. Makes 6 servings.
