Apple Ginger Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. cooking apples, pared and sliced
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    2 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 c. sugar
    2/3 c. milk
    1/4 c. molasses
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. each: cloves, nutmeg and baking soda
Preparation
    Combine the first 7 ingredients.
    Cook on medium heat until apples are tender.
    Pour into greased 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan.
