Hawaiian Shoyu Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 lb. chicken pieces
    3/4 c. shoyu (soy sauce)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 piece ginger, crushed
Preparation
    Heat shoyu and water.
    When hot, add sugar, stirring until dissolved.
    Add garlic, ginger and chicken; cook over medium heat until chicken is tender, about 45 minutes.
    Stir occasionally so chicken browns evenly.
