Trifle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 yellow cake
    1 large box jello (same flavor as fruit)
    2 pkg. Jell-O pudding (instant)
    fresh strawberries or raspberries
    whipped cream
    English Bird's Eye custard sauce (if available)
Preparation
    Cut pieces of cake and place in bottom of large serving bowl (optional:
    sprinkle with rum or brandy).
    Melt jello with 2 cups boiling water.
    Pour over cake.
    Cool in fridge.
    Make vanilla pudding and pour over jello.
    Spoon fruit over pudding.
    When ready to serve, cover with whipped cream and garnish with fresh fruit and slivered almonds.
    Serve with warm Bird's Eye custard and/or ice cream.
