Broccoli Onion Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (10 oz.) frozen cut broccoli
    3 medium fresh onions, cut in wedges
    4 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, cut up
    1/2 c. shredded American cheese
    1 c. soft bread crumbs
Preparation
    Cook and drain broccoli; set aside.
    Cook onion in boiling salted water 10 minutes or until tender.
    Set aside to drain. Melt 2 tablespoons butter; add flour, salt and pepper.
    Add milk. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
    Continue stirring and cook 2 more minutes.
    Add cream cheese and stir until melted.
    Stir in broccoli and onion.
    When combined, turn into a 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Top with American cheese.
    Melt 2 tablespoons butter and toss with bread crumbs and sprinkle over casserole.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
    Makes 8 servings.
