Nippy Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/16 tsp. ground red pepper
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. butter (1/2 stick)
    3 c. salted mixed nuts (16 oz.)
Preparation
    Cover a jellyroll pan with waxed paper; set aside.
    In a large bowl, combine cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, red pepper and 1/4 cup of the sugar; set aside.
    In a medium skillet, melt butter; stir in nuts, the remaining 1/2 cup of the sugar and 1 teaspoon water; cook and stir over medium heat until sugar melts and nuts start to brown, about 10 minutes.
    Stir nuts into spice mixture, tossing to coat; spread on prepared pan and cool completely, then break into small pieces.
    Store in a tightly covered container at room temperature.
