Candied Yams - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 sweet potatoes (large)
1 stick butter
4 Tbsp. water
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Wash and peel yams.
Cut lengthwise in 1/4-inch slices.
Place in heavy skillet in which butter has been melted.
Sprinkle with water, sugar, salt and nutmeg.
Cover and cook very slowly until potatoes are tender.
Yields 6 to 8 servings.
