Methodist Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 Tbsp. oil
1 egg
1 c. cornmeal
1 c. flour
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. sugar
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Line an iron skillet (bottom and sides) with raw bacon.
Combine ingredients and pour into skillet.
Bake 15 minutes at 400\u00b0 and then 15 minutes at 450\u00b0.
Pour off any accumulated fat from bacon.
