Barbecued Beef - cooking recipe

3 lb. boneless chuck roast
1 1/2 c. ketchup
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. red wine vinegar
2 Tbsp. Dijon style mustard
2 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. liquid smoke flavoring
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Preparation

Place chuck roast in crock pot. Combine remaining ingredients in a large bowl. Pour mixture over roast. Cover and cook on low 8 - 10 hours, or 4 - 5 hours on high. Remove roast from crock pot; shred meat with fork. Place shredded meat back in crock pot and stir to evenly coat with sauce. Spoon meat onto buns and top with additional sauce, if desired. Serves 12.
