Old-Fashioned Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. shortening
    9 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. cake flour
    1/2 tsp. mace
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Gradually add sugar to softened shortening and beat until creamy.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add vanilla.
    Stir the flour, mace, cream of tartar and salt together.
    Add a little at a time to creamed mixture, beating thoroughly after each addition.
    Bake 1 hour.
