Baked Apples And Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 cooking apples, cored and sliced 1/4-inch thick
    8 medium onions, peeled and sliced
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. maple syrup
Preparation
    Melt the butter in a baking dish.
    Spread the first layer of onions on the bottom of the dish.
    Arrange the apples on the onions.
    Repeat the same sequence of layers.
    Salt the layers as they are added and pour syrup over the top.
    Cover the pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until the ingredients are tender (about 20 minutes). Serves 6.
