Country Fried Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large potatoes
    2 large onions or 12 green onions, chopped
Preparation
    Peel and cut potatoes as if for French fries.
    Combine onions, potatoes and salt and pepper to taste.
    Cook in skillet with 2 tablespoons shortening or bacon drippings, which have been heated. Cover skillet while cooking.
    After potatoes start cooking, add 1/2 cup of water and let steam until done.
    Serves 4 to 5 people.
