King Ranch Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 to 4 lb.) chicken
    2 onions, chopped and divided
    2 ribs celery, chopped
    salt and pepper
    1 can cream of chicken
    8 oz. Cheddar cheese
    1 pkg. corn tortillas (12 count)
    1 large green bell pepper, chopped
    chili powder
    garlic salt
    1 (10 oz.) can tomatoes with green chilies (undrained)
Preparation
    Boil hen until tender in water seasoned with 1 onion, celery, salt and pepper.
    Remove chicken and cut into bite-sized pieces. Reserve stock.
    Combine soups and grated cheese.
    Just before assembling casserole, soak the tortillas in boiling chicken stock until softened.
    Start layering casserole in a 9 x 12-inch baking dish in this order:
    softened tortillas, chicken, onion and bell pepper.
    Sprinkle to taste with garlic salt and chili powder; add soup mixture.
    Repeat the layers.
    Cover the casserole with undrained tomatoes.
    Bake uncovered at 375\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
