Old Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 level tsp. soda
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    flavor (grated orange rind, orange extract or any other flavor)
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar and salt together.
    Mix soda, extract and beaten egg with buttermilk.
    Add to butter mixture, alternating with flour.
    If dough seems too soft to roll, add a little more flour.
    Roll to desired thinness, cut, place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 425\u00b0 until golden brown.
