Pear Butter Jam - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 gal. pears
    4 c. sugar
    1 pt. light Karo
    nutmeg or cinnamon to taste
Preparation
    Boil pears until
    soft.
    Put
    through
    food
    mill;
    add sugar and Karo.
    Can put in roaster in oven at low heat or can be put on top
    of
    stove until right consistency.
    When cooked on top of stove, extra
    care
    must be used to avoid scorching. Nutmeg or cinnamon may be added to taste.
    Ladle into jars and seal.
