Applesauce Donuts - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. shortening (may use oil)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. applesauce
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

In large mixer bowl, combine all ingredients, except nuts. Beat at medium speed until well blended.
Stir in nuts.
Set in refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Take out and stir down.
Add additional flour if needed.
Cut with donut cutter and fry in hot grease at 375\u00b0.
Brown on one side until brown and turn.
(Can drop by teaspoonfuls, if you wish.)
