Hoe Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 C. self-rising flour
3 Tbsp. shortening
2/3 c. milk
Preparation

Cut shortening into flour and add milk, a little at a time. Work dough with a heavy spoon.
Roll dough about 1/3 of an inch thick and place on a cookie sheet.
Mark 2 inch squares for lazy biscuits or leave plain for hoe cake.
Bake in a 450\u00b0 oven about 10 minutes or until brown.
