Fruit Cocktail Cake B.J.S. - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. unsifted flour
    3 c. granulated sugar
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. salt
    4 eggs, slightly beaten
    2 (1 lb.) cans fruit cocktail
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. evaporated milk
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 2/3 c. coconut
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
    Add eggs and undrained fruit cocktail; blend well.
    Pour into 2 (13 x 9-inch) pans. Sprinkle with brown sugar and nuts.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until cake springs back.
    Remove from oven, but let stand in pan or rack while preparing topping.
