Corncakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. corn meal (white)
    2 c. water
    1/2 c. milk
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. flour
Preparation
    Place corn meal and water in saucepan.
    Cook over low heat until thick.
    Remove from heat.
    Beat eggs and milk together and add to corn meal mixture.
    Combine salt, baking powder and flour. Add to first mixture and stir until blended. Heat skillet or griddle with about 3 tablespoons of oil.
    Spoon mixture into
    hot oil, approximately 2 to 3 tablespoons per cake.
    Brown on both sides.
    More oil may be added as needed or desired.
    If batter is too thin, add more flour.
    If too thick, add more milk.
    Serve with apple butter, syrup (like Karo) or honey.
