Brown Sugar Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. granulated sugar
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. butter or margarine
2 c. raw Spanish peanuts
1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

In a heavy 3-quart saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water and a dash of salt.
Cook and stir until sugars dissolve.
When syrup boils, stir frequently after mixture reaches thread stage. Add margarine when candy thermometer reaches 230\u00b0.
Add peanuts when temperature reaches soft crack stage (280\u00b0).
Stir constantly until temperature reaches hard crack stage (300\u00b0).
Remove from heat.
Quickly stir in soda.
Mix well.
