Gold Nugget Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. yellow cornmeal (white is also delicious)
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. milk
2/3 c. sifted flour
3 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
Preparation

Combine cornmeal and milk and let stand 10 minutes.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
Cut shortening into flour mixture until it resembles fine crumbs.
Add cornmeal and milk mixture and blend until all ingredients are moistened. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet.
Bake at 425\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Makes 16 to 18 biscuits.
