Frosting For Many Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. water
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation

Combine sugar and water in saucepan.
Cook over medium heat to 270\u00b0 to 290\u00b0 on candy thermometer, soft crack stage; remove from heat.
Pour over egg whites.
Beat well.
May add mashed bananas for banana cake, drained crushed pineapple for pineapple cake, coconut for coconut cake and chopped pecans for pecan cake. Yield:
Enough for 3 layer cake, 12 servings.
