Peppered Salisbury Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (15 oz.) can beef gravy
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. sliced onion
    1 medium green pepper, cut in strips
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly 1/4 cup gravy, ground beef, bread crumbs, egg and salt. Shape into 6 oval patties.
    In skillet, brown patties in shortening.
    Pour off fat.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Cover and cook over low heat for 20 minutes or until done.
    Stir occasionally.
