Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head lettuce
    1 c. cooked peas (canned or frozen)
    1 pt. mayonnaise
    8 oz. shredded cheese
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1/2 c. diced onion
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 lb. bacon
Preparation
    Cook bacon crisp (less than 1 pound can be used, if desired); drain and crumble.
    Whip mayonnaise with sugar.
    Shred lettuce; layer in large dish with celery, onion, peas, cheese, bacon and mayonnaise.
    Chill overnight.
