Chinese Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 (No. 303) cans beets
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    24 whole cloves
    3 Tbsp. catsup
    3 Tbsp. cooking oil
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. beet juice
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients and cook for 3 minutes over medium heat, or until mixture thickens.
    Cool and store in refrigerator.
    Serve with cottage cheese, chop in salads or eat plain.
