Chicken Pot Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 c. margarine, butter or chicken fat
1/3 c. self-rising flour
1/3 c. chopped onion
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 3/4 c. chicken broth
2/3 c. milk
2 c. cut up, cooked chicken
1 (16 oz.) can peas and carrots or mixed vegetables
pastry for 2 crust pie
Preparation

Heat margarine over low heat until melted.
Blend in flour, onion, salt and pepper.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in broth and milk; heat to boiling, stirring.
Boil and stir for 1 minute.
Stir in chicken and vegetables; set aside.
Pour into prepared pie crust.
Add
top pie crust.
Cut slits in top.
Bake in a 435\u00b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes, until crust is brown.
