Candied Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 apples
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. water
    6 cloves
    2 Tbsp. cinnamon drops (red hots)
Preparation
    Core or pare apples.
    Stick with cloves.
    Cook sugar, water and cinnamon drops for 5 minutes.
    Add apples and cook very slowly until tender, basting often with syrup in pan.
    Serve with meat or very cold with whipped cream as dessert.
