Danish Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick oleo
    3 c. bread crumbs
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 qt. applesauce
Preparation
    Melt oleo in a skillet.
    Stir in bread crumbs.
    Gently brown. Add brown sugar and vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Alternate layers of crumbs with applesauce.
    Begin and end with crumbs.
    Press crumbs down gently.
    Refrigerate.
    Serve with whipped cream or ice cream (or not)!
