Spaghetti Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. spaghetti, broken into 2-inch pieces
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/3 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 egg, well beaten
    1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
    1 (8 oz.) container cottage cheese
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. chopped green pepper
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 (15 1/2 oz.) jar thick spaghetti sauce
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1/2 tsp. garlic salt
    4 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
Preparation
    Cook spaghetti following label directions. Drain.
    Place in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Stir in margarine, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and egg until thoroughly combined. Spread mixture evenly in pan. Saute the ground chuck, onion and green pepper in a large skillet until meat is brown.
    Drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce, sugar, oregano and garlic salt.
    Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti layer. Top with meat mixture. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese and bake an additional 10 minutes.
    Let stand 15 minutes before cutting.
    Makes approximately 8 servings.
