Frosted Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. shortening
3 egg yolks and whites
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. sour milk
2 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Beat egg whites and add 1 cup brown sugar.
Combine all other ingredients until well mixed and spread in a baking pan.
Spread the brown sugar-egg white mixture on cake mixture.
Sprinkle chopped nuts.
Bake 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
